A is for Alligator Tattoo

Today is the first day of the A to Z blogging challenge and I decided to save this moment to show off my new alligator tattoo. I've always wanted a tattoo, and when I saw this in the tattoo artist's book I knew it was right for me. Why an alligator? Well, as frequent readers will know, my family and I love going to the zoo.  I wanted to choose a ferocious animal (kind of a female empowerment thing), but not something cliché like a lion or a wolf.  I was afraid it would be painful but it wasn't actually that bad.  I gave birth to two kids, I can take anything!

Oh, and here's a fun video from Improv Everywhere.  They actually got 4 sets of quadruplets together for a gag!

A to Z Challenge

I've just decided that in the month of April I'm going to participate in the A to Z challenge, where I create a blog post for every letter of the alphabet during the month of April. That's every day except Sundays (and since April 1st is a Sunday, I have to blog that day too).  Unlike my highly organized friend Siobhan Minty, I have not planned out what I am going to say, so the topics will be totally random.

April 1st is also the launch of Crush. Candy. Corpse., the latest book written by my highly-talented mother, Sylvia McNicoll.  If you live in or near Burlington, come down to A Different Drummer Books between 2 and 4 pm, and purchase a signed copy.  Here's the official invite:

Happy April Fool's Day

I was going to write something foolish as a blog entry because it's April Fool's Day, but it's after one o'clock, and I was always taught that if you fool someone after noon then you'll be crowned the fool of all fools (or something like that). So now this marks the third year in a row that I've missed fooling anyone on April Fool's Day.

I couldn't find any April fool's day hoaxes to amuse myself, so perhaps the media also subscribes to the no fools in the afternoon thing. Instead here's a video from a news service that makes it April Fool's Day all year 'round:
