Pigs!

I am now the proud mommy of two male guinea pigs. Aren't they cute? Lokai is the caramel coloured one with the white nose and the other one is Bele. They'll grow to be about the size of a small rabbit. I just got them today and I love them already.

Congratulations on your er...motherhood ;D If they're anything like rabbits, you'd have a litter of them powering your airconditioning system through "wheel" power...;)

Did you know that guinea pigs are a delicacy in Peru? If you don't believe me, read this.

I did know that they eat them in some countries, but don't tell my boys. I had Lokai on my lap when I read your comment and had to sheild his eyes from the screen. :)

I've been reading that I should call them cavies, instead of guinea pigs. My book says that the term "guinea pig" is politically incorrect, as they are neither from guinea, nor related to pigs.

cute critters ya got there. I must say you need to brush them some more cause they seem to have a few cowlicks. Perhaps we could try to breed your boys with my girls and see what we get. Shove em in bag and shake it up. could get guinneyrats or ratguinneys or rattiepigs. and if they made it with rosemary it could be hairless which would make skinnyrattyiepigs or rattieskinny pigs or skinnyguinneyrattiepigs. Muhuhahahaha.

I am ridiculously allergic to those little munchkins.

I'm allergic to a lot of furry things but I don't seem to have a problem with Cavies. Are you sure you're not allergic to the hay or the wood chips, because there are alternatives to those.
